Why Move Files into Digs?

Procore is where the build gets done.
Digs is where the home lives after construction ends.
It is logical that we need to share some data as a result to make sure that the post build departments gain value from the work already done by the build gurus.

When you move files from Procore into Digs, you’re not duplicating work, you’re unlocking long-term context. This leads into fewer questions that a team member needs to spend time on, and more focus on work that helps improve your bottom line. The more complete your Digs project is, the more powerful the platform becomes:

  • Smarter Search Across Projects

Files copied into Digs are immediately indexed and contextually conected together. They become searchable across comments, documents, and projects. Time just gets longer between build complete and current, but with Digs, your team can instantly find specifications, selections, manuals, and past decisions.

  • Stronger AskDigs Responses

AskDigs uses your project documentation to generate contextual answers. The more relevant files stored in Digs, the more accurate and helpful the responses.

  • Better Warranty Ticket Support

When a homeowner submits a ticket, Digs can suggest relevant documents based on the issue described. Installation guides, product data, or care instructions can surface automatically, reducing back-and-forth.

  • Cleaner Homeowner Handoff

Manuals, finish schedules, as built details, and product documentation live in the same system homeowners use for warranty and long-term care.

  • Long-Term Record Keeping

As projects age and Procore access changes, Digs becomes the long-term record of what was built and how it should be maintained.

How File Copying Works Today

You can copy one or more files at a time from Procore into Digs.
At this time there is no button inside Procore to do this, but we are working on it :)

Simply

  • Navigate to a Digs project, either directly via https:app.digs.com or by activating the Digs App within a Procore Project.

    • Connected Projects are identified by having a “Procore” Badge on the Project in Digs.

  • Within the project, go to any of the “upload” buttons and select “Upload from Procore”.

    • If you do not see a Procore button it means your specific user is not connected and just needs to open Procore and Authenticate. it is fast and simple.

  • Select one or more files in Procore that you would like to transfer and press submit

Please note: Full folder transfers are not currently supported. This is common in products that work across remote systems, as deeply nested folders can be difficult to calculate reliably. We are actively working to improve this experience.

Pro tips!

  • Pro Tip 1: Moving Entire Folders? Use Your Hard Drive

If you need to move a full folder from Procore:

    1. Download the folder to your local hard drive

    2. Open your Digs project

    3. Drag and drop the folder into Digs

Uploading from your local machine allows Digs to properly calculate and preserve nested folder structures. This is often faster and more predictable for large transfers.

  • Pro Tip 2: Move Files Before Handoff

Don’t wait until the week of homeowner handoff to move documents. Copy files into Digs during the build process. This gives your team time to organize, layer, and connect documentation to the project before it becomes urgent.

Front-loading this work makes warranty and handoff way smoother.

  • Pro Tip 3: Focus on High-Value Documents First

If you’re not sure where to start, prioritize:

    • Final plans and as built info

    • Owner manuals and product specifications

    • Finish schedules and selections

    • Manufacturer warranty documents

These are the files that power search, AskDigs, and warranty workflows the most.
