Digs Toolbox: Manage File Storage and Permissions

Digs has two places to store files: company files and project files. Access controls are similar, but there are some differences in who and how you may want to use the .
Company Files
Found in the top-left of your screen, company files live at the workspace level and aren't tied to any project. Use this for templates, standards, and internal reference materials you want your team to reuse across jobs.
Collaborators do not have access to company files, so it's a safe place to store sensitive documents like financials or insurance.
To restrict access to a specific folder:
Click the three dots next to the folder and select Manage Access.
Deselect Share with Everyone and add the emails of anyone who should have access.
Permissions apply to all documents and subfolders within that folder.
Project Files
When you open a project, All Files on the right side shows everything tied to that job: plans, drawings, photos, client notes, estimates, and so on.
You can manage folder access here the same way as company files: three dots > Manage Access > deselect Share with Everyone > add specific people.
Home Handoff
When the build is complete, click Hand Off Home and choose Share Documents. Select the project folders you want to pass along, then click Next and Save and Hand Off Home. Those files will appear in the homeowner's portal.
Copy Company Files to a Project
To bring a company-level file (like a budget or schedule template) into a project:
Click the three dots next to the file and select Copy To.
Choose the destination project and folder, then click Copy.
The original stays in company files; the copy goes to the project.
