By transferring critical documents, decisions, and contacts, builders create a polished transition that empowers homeowners to manage and maintain their new investment—all from one easy-to-access digital home record.

🔧 Why Is This Feature Important?

  • Free plans are limited to one active project. If you attempt a handoff on a free account, you won’t be able to start a new project without upgrading.

  • Pro Subscribers can complete handoffs and immediately move on to managing new builds—ensuring uninterrupted project flow.

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Initiate the Handoff

    • Open your completed project

    • Click the Kabob Menu (⋮) in the top-right

    • Select “Handoff to Homeowner”

  1. Select Files & Folders to Share

    • Include warranties, manuals, product selections, and any essential documentation

  1. Add Key Contacts

    • Subcontractors, vendors, and service providers

    • Add notes to clarify each contact’s role or specialty

  1. Finalize & Send

    • Confirm everything is accurate

    • The homeowner receives an email invite to access their new, distinct Digs project

⚠️ Important: Once the handoff is complete, the builder's version stays with the builder for their record keeping. The homeowner is removed from that project and into their own newly handed off home.
