Changing the Digs Workspace connected to Procore

Right now, a single Procore account can only be connected to one Digs Workspace at a time. The first project you connect through Procore sets which Digs Workspace is used going forward.

As more projects get connected, changing workspaces becomes harder. That’s intentional, at least for now.

Why? Because once work is in motion, switching workspaces can interrupt active projects or invalidate work that your team members may be actively working to produce (like a close out). Until deeper account management features are in place, Digs prioritizes protecting work already in flight over making workspace switching frictionless.

In the future, we are sure a use case will present itself to require multiple workspaces, but for now, we are keeping it simple.

Why Workspace Changes Are Restricted

If one or more projects are already connected, changing the Digs Workspace could block access to active work. To avoid that risk, the current rule is straightforward:

  • If projects are connected, the workspace stays locked

  • To change workspaces, projects must be disconnected first

This approach will evolve over time as Digs adds more advanced account and workspace management across Procore and Digs.

How to Disconnect Projects

Projects are disconnected directly from within Digs.
For each project that shows a Procore badge on the Digs Projects page:

  1. Open the project

  2. Go to Project Settings

  3. Select Unlink Procore Project

  4. Confirm the disconnect when prompted

Repeat this for each connected project. Once all projects are unlinked, the Procore account is free to connect to a different Digs Workspace.

Connecting a Different Workspace

After all projects are disconnected, simply log into Procore and open the Digs app again. You will be asked to Connect to Digs, do so using a Different user, connected to the Workspace you want to use. You’ll be prompted to either create or connect a Digs project.

If you accidentally unlink a project, no stress. The next time the Digs app loads in Procore, just search for the existing project by name and reconnect it instead of creating a new one. Reconnecting is a simple one click experience.

When This Usually Comes Up

In practice, this only happens on day one of a Digs connection.

A common scenario is someone creating a brand-new Digs account via our website instead of accepting an email invite from a teammate. That creates a personal workspace, and suddenly it’s a race to see who connects Procore first.

The good news is that it’s easy to get users back into the right workspace, reconnect projects, and keep everyone moving in the same direction with Procore and Digs working together.
