How does Digs help me manage project documents?
Digs provides multiple flexible ways to store, organize, and access your documents—whether it's floor plans, specs, images, or permits. You can pin files directly to the blueprint, attach them to comments, or store them in structured folders, ensuring your team always knows where to find what they need.
What are my options for storing documents in Digs?
✅ 1. Attach Files to Comments
Use the 📎 attachment icon when writing a comment to upload files or images. These attachments:
Stay linked to the specific comment
Are easy to access later
Keep context and documentation in one place

✅ 2. Upload Directly to the Blueprint
Drag and drop files directly onto the blueprint view. Digs will:
Automatically store them in the correct location
Associate them with the room or space where they were dropped
Make them easy to retrieve and reference later

✅ 3. Organize with Folders & Subfolders
Want a more traditional file structure?
Go to the Files tab
Click “New Folder” to create public or private folders
Use subfolders to categorize files (e.g., “Electrical”, “Permits”, “Interior Design”)
Control access by choosing who can view or edit each folder

Why should I upload files into comments or folders?
Uploading documents into structured areas helps:
Ensure critical information is easy to find
Reduce miscommunication and file loss
Keep project teams aligned and on task
Save time and avoid costly delays
How can I keep sensitive files private?
When creating folders, you can set them to Private and choose which collaborators have access. You can also manage permissions on individual files and subfolders for more granular control.
What file types can I upload?
Digs supports a wide range of file types, including:
PDFs
Images (JPG, PNG)
Documents (DOCX, XLSX)
Other common construction file formats
Can I move or organize files after uploading?
Yes! You can:
Move files between folders
Rename folders and files
Update access permissions
Use the "Copy To" feature to replicate files or folders across projects
What’s the best way to stay organized in Digs?
Use descriptive folder names (e.g., “Design Approvals – March”)
Group related documents by category or trade
Keep frequently referenced files pinned to relevant rooms or tasks
Regularly review folder permissions
Use a mix of blueprint pinning + folder organization to keep contextual files with your plans, while also maintaining a clean, searchable document library across your projects.
Build Smarter, Not Harder
Digs helps you stay organized, reduce back-and-forth, and focus more on building—not hunting for files.
