Why should I upload a blueprint into Digs?

Uploading your blueprint is the key to unlocking Digs' most powerful features. It allows you to organize your project visually, collaborate more effectively, and connect tasks, files, and comments directly to specific rooms on the floor plan—providing instant clarity for your team and clients.

Pro Tip:

For best results, upload a high-resolution PDF with clear text and linework. If using a scanned document, make sure it’s aligned and legible—this speeds up processing and improves room detection accuracy.

What format should my blueprint be in?

To get the most out of Digs, your blueprint must be uploaded in PDF format.

Once uploaded, Digs will:

  • Process your file for layered views and annotations

  • Enable scale for measurements

  • Enable automated room segmentation

  • Prepare your plan for 3D visualization, if applicable

Simply upload your .PDF blueprint, and we’ll take it from there—turning it into a fully interactive, navigable experience.

What happens after I upload my blueprint?

✅ Automated Room Segmentation:
Your file is queued for automatic room recognition, helping Digs detect and define individual spaces for faster navigation and organization. This runs on a first-come, first-served basis and may take a little time depending on volume.

✅ 3D Provisioning (if applicable):
If your project includes 3D visualization, Digs will begin converting your blueprint to a 3D-ready format. This step may take up to 24 hours, depending on the complexity of the plan.

When and where can I upload a blueprint?

You can upload a blueprint:

  1. During project creation

  2. After the project is created – You can add the blueprint at any time from the Blueprint Folder.

    1. Simply upload a new blueprint to the Blueprint Folder.

    2. Click the three dot kebab on that file and make it the Primary Plan. This will make the latest version of the blueprint the working document for all on the project.

Even if you’re waiting on final plans, you can still:

  • Set up the project

  • Organize folders and files

  • Invite collaborators
Then upload the blueprint when it’s ready.

What features are unlocked after uploading?

  • Pin tasks, files, and comments directly to specific rooms

  • Quickly navigate floor plans with room-based quick links

  • View your plans with layered views and annotations

  • Enable 3D visualizations and immersive walkthroughs (if supported)
