Ever wish you could tweak the names of rooms on your floor plan? Now you can! As of March 2025, Digs lets you rename rooms so they better match how you use them—without permanently changing the system’s identification.

Previously, room names were locked in place, but thanks to user feedback, you can now mask the original name with one of your choosing.

How to Rename a Room

You’ve got two easy ways to do it:

🔹 Click on the Floor Plan Map

  1. Open your floor plan in Digs.

  2. Click on the room you want to rename.

  3. Select the three-dot (kabob) menu and choose Rename Room.

🔹 Use the Quick Navigation Panel

  1. Open your floor plan in Digs.

  2. Find the room name in the Quick Navigation panel.

  3. Click the pencil icon next to the room name and enter the new name.

To revert to the original name, just reopen the rename menu and select “Restore Original Name”

Pro Tip: Keep Privacy in Mind When Renaming Rooms

Builders and homeowners should consider privacy and professionalism when renaming rooms. Think twice before using personalized room names like “Cindy’s Bedroom”. While it’s great to customize labels for your own use, more generic naming keeps things professional and private when sharing plans with teams.
