Exporting in Digs is simple, customizable, and designed to help builders share project documents with clarity. Whether you're printing an original file or one with annotations, this guide will walk you through the process. We have it on our backlog to have the functionality to print directly from Digs.
🔍 Step 1: Locate the File You Want to Export
You can access your file in several ways:
✅ From DigsCloud (Pro Feature):
Click the File menu at the top of the screen
Navigate to Company Files or the Project Files section
✅ From a Project (Dynamic Island):
Open the relevant project
Click the Files tab from the right-hand Dynamic Island
✅ Using Search or AskDigs:
Use Search or AskDigs to locate your file without browsing.
🧾 Step 2: Choose Your Exporting Option
🗒️ Option 1: Export the Original File (No Annotations)
Open the file’s Kabob Menu (⋮)
Select Export
Toggle Include Annotations OFF
Click Export to download the clean, original version
Print from your computer using your preferred software
✏️ Option 2: Export with Annotations
Open the file and ensure the annotation layers you want to print are turned ON
Open the Kabob Menu (⋮)
Select Export
Keep Include Annotations ON
Click Export to create a flattened, annotated file
Print the file from your computer
💡 Pro Tips for Better Prints
📚 Plan Your Layers:
Use dedicated annotation layers by trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical) for clarity
Finalize your edits, export the annotated version, and re-upload to Digs for clean sharing
🧱 Use the Base Layer Wisely:
Reserve the Base Layer for universal markups
Use it for high-level edits like erasing or hiding elements from the original file
🗂️ Name Your Files Clearly:
Use descriptive names for exported files (e.g.,
FramingPlan_Annotated_April2024.pdf
)This helps track revisions and ensures easy file management
🔄 What’s Coming Next?
We’re working on even more enhancements to streamline the printing process—including potential direct print options from Digs. Your feedback is key, so keep it coming!
